In a bizarre partnership that defies conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Mission Revealed

According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where whispers of banned practices and terrifying transformations echo through the obscurity." The plot introduces a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who charges the characters with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a hidden group.

The adventure concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Places and Changes

The preview showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a dramatic scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Additional Content

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe

• Survey Corps mount

This update also brings the game's newest complimentary story episode, titled "The Enigma." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with famous anime series. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
