Former Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors report that a ex- physician has been charged with performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – comprising acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 charges comprise:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
