Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward apologised to the team after the uproar from his recent interview.

The Incident

Salah was left out from a key Champions League match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the veteran striker.

Team Unity

He emphasized that the team's response stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.

He also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”

Positive Results

The team's performance have remained strong in the games following the situation. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to cause disruption.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
