The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Racial Topics

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to be ashamed of their country. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“The politician has crafted his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have appointed an education spokesperson.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals work in schools in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for students.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
