The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Star for Bentham in One Piece Season 3

Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

Netflix announced recently that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will play Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The actor, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a rendition of that role reimagined as non-binary, as opposed to as a drag artist, in the live-action show, unlike the initial comic and animated series.

Escola joins a number of fresh additions set to bring the group to the screen, featuring leader Mr. 0, played by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and an accomplished actor, who is also part of the lineup as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.

Even though Bon Clay is a major member of the group, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the schedule of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the story’s structure.

Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a ideal selection for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the range they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
